FORT COLLINS, CO. -- In the Main Gallery of the Poudre River Arts Center http://www.poudreriverartscenter.com/index.php

Our gallery and artist studios are open to the public every Thursday, Friday and Saturday, 11 am - 3 pm

Gallery Walk Fort CollinsSympathetic OppositesJohn Garretson and Stephen J. Allen Joint Art Show:
Sympathetic Opposites

Exhibit Runs August 5th to August 27th, 2010
Gallery Hours:
11 to 3 Thursday, Friday & Saturday

Opening Reception: August 6th from 6 to 9 PM during Fort Collins First Friday Gallery Walk; Artists Talk: August 21 at 2PM; Closing Reception: August 27th 6 to 8 PM

In “Sympathetic Opposites,” the artists aim to provide the audience with a chance to compare and contrast non-representational and realistic art. We hope to provoke a discussion about the essential elements in how a painter communicates, and pose the question: “Are the stories told by a non-representational painter all that different than the narrative told by a realistic artist?”

There are some other things to consider, but we can and should talk about them some more. Together we can create an exciting new art scene. My number is 399-2777.
